I'm still not sold on the current playoff system in the MLS. A table doesn't make sense with no consequences, ie) relegation, and with no lower division, it just doesn't make sense.

Glad to hear that revisions are probable in the near future, there are definitely gaping holes in the system now.

These playoff rivalries in the MLS, I guess that is how interest is sparked. There have been lots of articles written by journalists about the upcoming games, and to tell you the truth, if you start seeing there is a rivalry, you will start to be very interested cause there is something else vested in the win, pride over the rivalry. So, I'm unsure as well, but at least interest is being sparked this way.

The playoffs are exciting and fun to watch the problem is that there is a long regular season in which 8 out of 12 teams will make the playoffs. I would like to see one table but only 4 teams in the playoffs and then when we reach 16 teams 8 teams in the playoff. At the current moement 2/3 teams are in the playoffs, if the amount of the teams in the playoffs were reduced then we would have more intensity in the regular season. I am all about playoffs but the amount of teams in them must be reduced.

The playoffs make sense if theres no relegation... Limiting the teams would increase the regular season urgency to perform throughout the season... The problem is that MLS teams need the extra "playoff games" to generate revenue...
